In 2004 Fullmer took its building expertise to the Medical Office field. Starting with the construction of four medical office buildings in Lake Forest for Newport Medical Plaza, Fullmer took its intricate knowledge of office construction and expanded it to the unique requirements of Medical Office. Today, Fullmer has constructed nearly 400,000 square feet of new medical facilities and tenant improvements with projects as large as 15 million dollars and multi-story fully-equipped facilities, giving Fullmer the experience and know-how to build any medical project you may require including OSHPD.


Medical Office Building Featured Project

Fullmer constructed a 90,000 square foot, single-story concrete tilt-up medical office for St. Jude Heritage Medical Group. The building later became one of the first LEED certified medical office buildings in Orange County. Complete with rock façade and perimeter mansard roof, the project included tenant improvements consisting of: developing an imaging center, doctor's offices, exam rooms, blood draw facility and pharmacy.

Fullmer's long history in the building industry has allowed them to develop great relationships. We were pleased with all of the subcontractors that Fullmer chose including landscapers, plumbers, framers, electricians, and many others. Fullmer's interactions with the architects and engineers were seamless. When obstacles arose, it was their relationships and broad knowledge of the options that allowed us to succeed without delay.

Medical Office Building Sample Projects

The Walk is a new three-building medical office complex in Newport Beach, CA. Located at the corner of Westcliff Drive and Irvine Avenue less than five miles from the Newport Beach pier, the complex is comprised of 29,000 square feet of new medical office space, 16,000 square feet of new restaurant and retail space and a three-story parking garage. The various medical suites include dermatology, dental, aesthetics, a pharmacy and urgent care. 

The project included constructing a new three-story steel office building, new two-story wood office building and upgrading the existing 50-year-old three-story concrete building. The complex is accented with beautiful stone and wood finishes, as well as stunning hardscapes and lush landscaping with 30' palms throughout.

Fullmer worked through numerous challenges including an extremely tight site; the work was done within an existing business center where extra care had to be taken to ensure no disruption to auto and foot traffic to and from existing businesses. New concrete pavement was installed in four separate phases to avoid closing the parking area entirely to traffic, an important goal for the center's property managers. Fullmer accomplished these challenges effectively, turning this project into what is now a premier destination in the OC for healthcare, food and retail.

Fullmer completed a new medical office building on Euclid and Holt Boulevard after about 7 months of construction. Situated between the 10 and 60 freeways in Ontario, the facility has five tenants occupying 57,885 square feet of building space. 

San Bernardino WIC, Health Services, Lab Services, and California Child Services are currently operating in the building. The finished project includes an extensive array of laboratory and testing facilities, public health clinic with x-ray imaging, triage, dentistry sector, medical care space and offices. The County WIC office for women and infants is also located here, as well as the County's only Biosafety Level 3 laboratory. 

Through a refreshing integration of ceramic tile into concrete tilt-up, Fullmer successfully replicated the 1930’s Art Deco feel consistent with historic downtown Ontario.

 

For Providence Little Company of Mary Fullmer performed a building expansion and façade improvements to an existing two-story building. The building was transformed into a walk-in medical facility complete with elevator access and imaging center. 

Upland Medical was an exciting project for Fullmer to work on as it had a unique architectural and modern look. The wood and steel-framed 21,876 square foot medical office facility is a fully functional multi-tenant medical office.

The first medical project that Fullmer completed was Newport Medical in Lake Forest, CA. It consisted of four buildings at 30,250 square feet and showed Fullmer's capacity to transition smoothly from industrial facilities to medical.
